It’s time for the greatest battle in Mobile App History! Which of these short form video apps will come out on top to take Vine’s old crown?
The Frontrunner – TikTok
The favorite to take over Vine’s previously owned spot in the short form video market, TikTok is now boasting over 500 million users – which is more than the total population of the United States, for those wondering. However, there have been some setbacks for the Chinese owned company: it was banned in India for a week, and while it has now been restored, both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store have yet to make it available for download again.
New Kids on the Block – Byte and Bits
Yes, those are two different apps and, yes, I am getting confused too. But, there is a difference.
Byte is Vine 2.0 and being developed one of Vine’s original co-founders. It’s not officially out for download and people are already wondering if it’s too late for them.

Then there’s Bits, a short form video app focusing entirely on comedy. The short comedy sketches that permeated our much beloved Vine, are how Bits is hoping to differentiate itself from the other platforms.

Who will Take the Video Throne?
While everyone in Westeros is busy fighting for the Iron Throne, we’ve got our own battle raging for Supreme Overlord of all Video-dom.
Will TikTok continue to reign supreme, or will the old adage, “competition breeds excellence” make the users the winners in the long run?
Stay tuned!
