We’ve got a new junior heartthrob on our hands and he is singing his way into the hearts of teenage girls, everywhere. Zach Matari is the latest upcoming Pop and R&B star with looks to kill, dance moves for days and a voice that is turning more than just teen heads.
About Zach
The 20-year-old singer/songwriter hails from New Jersey and has been making waves in the music industry with his impressive vocals and throwback music style, featuring sounds from the disco era. He has performed on famous stages and in popular music festivals including “Bamboozle,” where he opened for top artists like Paramore, Bruno Mars and Bon Jovi. He has since toured the country performing in over 100 cities, building his fan base and sharing his unique music with an ever-growing audience.
The nicknamed “New” Jersey Boy recently released his single, “Up To You,” which he wrote and co-produced with prod
ucer GI Joe. The song is true to his nostalgic style and alludes to the sounds of the 70s and 80s. As a young star, it is surprising to hear that his influences date way back back. The old soul credits his inspiration to past greats such as Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.
More than an Artist
With his newborn fame, Matari has decided to use his voice to not only make music, but make a difference as well. As an activist for anti-bulling initiatives, Matari has toured with The Teen Nation Tour, a peer-to-peer community service program to educate youth about bullying through music. Through his performances and speaking engagements, he has spread his anti-bullying message to over 40,000 students. In addition to his anti-bullying campaigns, Matari is also a member of Musicians On Call, in which he visits bedridden patients in their hospital rooms to inspire them with a private performance. In Summer 2014, Matari also took part in the Arthur Ashe Kids Day, which celebrates tennis legend and humanitarian Arthur Ashe through children’s events and festivities including performances by some of the music industry’s A-list artists.
Music Maker
Matari is set to release his first album in 2015, the name of which is yet to be disclosed. The young star’s album is sure to be a hit with fans young and old as it is expected to stay true to his retro style, blending the best of music old and new.
