Taylor Swift, A Philanthropist or An Influencer

Taylor Swift’s latest album “1989” that released on 27th October 2014 which is named for her birth year is climbing pop charts more than ever before and her opening single of the album “Welcome To New York” has reached No 1 on iTunes charts in 89 countries where all proceeds of the single is been contributed to New York City public schools by the singer-songwriter. Taylor has been able to achieve incredible success in her career within a short time and her popularity has no doubt enabled her in donating to charity at this competence. Taylor swift has been able to earn sufficient and afford this quantity of generosity through her fans and she has been able to become a perfect influencer to the audience that she represents.

How did Taylor Swift use her celebrity status to donate New York City public schools?

Since Taylor’s achievements in the industry as singer-songwriter, actress and an influencer, Swift is well known as a philanthropist as well. She has contributed to various schools across the country, to the disaster relief fund of Red Cross and many more. She was honored with the “Big Help Award” in 2012 by Mrs. Obama for her devotion in helping others and she was also presented with the “Ripple Hope Award” by Kerry Kennedy of the RFK Center for her dedication towards advocacy at a very young age. The singer has been involved in numerous charity works during the past years and recently she has been named as the “Global Welcome Ambassador” by New York’s tourism department.

In 2012 Mrs. Michelle Obama, admired Swift as someone who “has rocketed to the top of the music industry but still keeps her feet on the ground as someone who has shattered every expectation of what a 22-year old can accomplish” when she was presented with the “Kids’ Choice Award” in recognition of her charitable work. Taylor has been able to attract a wider audience and achieve success not only by being a singer- songwriter or an actress but also through her own down to earth personality which has facilitated to make a significant impact in her prosperity and use her celebrity status to donate to charity such as New York City public schools today.
