4 Inspiring Influencer Marketing Campaigns

Influencer marketing is the great equalizer of marketing ad spends. Big and small businesses alike can achieve fantastic results by reaching out to social media influencers. We have compiled a list of 4 successful campaigns using influencers in the lifestyle market. These brands chose influencers who have followers similar to themselves to help them reach their perfect audience.

1. Empowered By You

Empowered By You is an underwear line that believes in using lingerie as a tool of empowerment rather than one of seduction. 20% of their net profits go to empower women out of poverty and into business via microfinance. They are currently running a social media influencer campaign entitled “What Empowers You” where influencers wear shirts saying what empowers them. They write about the empowerment in the caption.

Sports Illustrated model, Erin Heatherton, teamed up with LMS client Empowered By You for their Women’s International Month campaign. Heatherton posted this image to bring light to the Empowered By You’s What Empowers You Empowers Women Everywhere movement by sharing a very personal and touching breakthrough moment in her life. The powerful post received over 7k likes within the first week. The campaign has continued with over 40 influencers contributing their sources of empowerment.

2. Chanel New York Fashion Week

Instagram accounted for 97% of social media interactions at Fall ’16 NYFW.  Chanel leveraged the reach of top Instagram influencers to engage massive social media audiences and create excitement for the release of the company’s new fragrance. Chanel was able to expose over 9 million people to the brand’s social media marketing campaign. Their branded hashtag “#newchanel5” featured over 1,600 pieces of content that received about 1 million likes in the first month of the campaign.

Jessica Mercedes Kirschner of @jemerced has 525k Instagram followers and 107k YouTube subscribers. The polish influencer is known for her fashion sense and fabulous lifestyle. By reaching out to her Chanel ensured an audience beyond the scope of the average fashion only influencer. Her post below garnered 26.8k likes and over 100 comments in the first month.

3. #KeepOnSucking

Jolly Rancher is getting in on the influencer marketing fun with their hashtag #KeepOnSucking. This is a slogan you may have heard in their commercials. They called on instagram influencers and took advantage of the trendy hashtag #finalssuck. Jolly ranchers used lifestyle micro-influencers whose follower base was mainly millennials. Using micro-influencers enables brands to get more engagement and reach than tapping into influencers with millions of followers. There are over 30 influencer posts so far.

4. LOLA “Shelfies”

Lola is a modern approach to feminine care. They offer 100% cotton and chemical free tampons delivered monthly. Finding a way to promote tampons on social media may seem like a daunting task but  Lola’s influencer marketing strategy is clever and fun. They have partnered with LMS to get influencers to post “shelfies”. These cute images of Lola products sitting on bathroom or bedroom shelves has taken off! Over 150 influencers have published shelfies using the #lolashelfie hashtag, including a post last year from Karlie Kloss. The #shelfie below was reposted by Into The Gloss and seen by their 360k followers!
